the mind of a child

A few Saturdays ago, I was looking through some of our packing boxes (the many we gained whilst packing our English house to move to an Australian one) and found some photographs, many of which I hadn't seen before.
Often I'd come across that odd picture that all of a sudden I would remember that exact moment, or maybe just an item that had been captured in it. So strange to think that I can barely remember way back when, but with an illustration - I could. Really is the power of a photograph I suppose.
So here is one I will share with you,

This image is full of emotions. The picture itself is quite hilarious, at the time, myself and my cousins were clueless to life, and what this special place would become.

This is myself and my cousins (from left-right, Harvey, Abi, and Myself, Katie in the corner) at the old farm house where my Grandad and Nanny lived. My family were two hours away in another town of small England, where as my Dad's side of the family lived in the midlands. It was here that we made a trip up every other weekend and spent lots of hours playing, going to the pub (the kids in the park, obviously) and just having family fun. The farm house was absolutely fabulous and one of my favourite places to go. I'm not sure of the full story of what happened to it, but its not like it used to be and my Grandparents don't live there any more. But the pictures and videos that we have are so lovely, its wonderful to know that we have them.

I have to feel so lucky that I have all the captured moments that I do. Lots of people don't. So from now on, I'm going to take a lot of pictures, of things and people that come and go. Then when I'm old I can spend a day or two looking them all, just like I did on that Saturday.

So, I went to a One Direction Concert

And it was quite fantastic.
Wow. Before Sunday, I would have never thought I would get such an opportunity like this, one that I will always remember.  But thanks to Smallzy (from Nova 96.9 FM - check out his show, Smallzy's Surgery if you haven't already), myself and my sister experienced a concert in an oh-so-wonderful luxury corporate box; and let me tell you - once you've done this, you'll never look back. My sister, (Katie) being the editor of "Directioner" magazine and of course, a major 1D fan, was honoured to be a guest, along with myself, and we had a fabulous night!

Myself, Smallzy and Katie
just a section of the massive crowds lining up!
AND of course, the boys. Lets just say, when I walked out of the Arena, the screams didn't stop. I was practically deaf because the fans were so crazy about finally seeing their future husbands live - but it didn't matter, because the atmosphere was brilliant and I absolutely loved every second. I'm a big fan too and it was incredible to see the amount of support that they get from girls - and guys, of all ages (including those mums and dads I saw, shamelessly waiting in line with their daughters!) The five of them put on a show alright, with some of the highlights including the human pyramid they made on the centre stage, answering tweets that had been sent in with what some would call "dad humour" and Niall continually updating us on the score from the NRL grand final that was happening next door at the ANZ stadium - which resulted in a few of the boys celebrating the Roosters' win by wearing their jerseys.
the boys are just coming on stage!
Ohhhh and just another little surprise - we were delighted to meet the one and only, Tyler Oakley and the lovely Troye Sivan, who were also Smallzy's guests in the box. What incredibly humble guys! I watch their weekly video's on their youtube channels all the time and it was so amazing to meet them, and all the other people too, all so kind and welcoming. Most of all I have to thank Smallzy once again, for an such an incredible evening!

These two lovely boys, so wonderful meeting them!

Imperfections Create Character

I'm not going to lie to you, in finding this quote, I was in search of a new twitter bio, something simple, yet to the point. And that's exactly what I typed into google. Yes, I google searched for suggestions for my twitter bio, admit it, you've done something like that before - even if it wasn't as sad as that.
When I saw this impeccable quote, I immediately had to find out where it was from; it had so much meaning behind it, and I couldn't not find out who wrote it.

Ellen Hopkins, is who. She is a New York Times Best Selling Author, and a person of great truth (in my opinion.)
There are many ways and meanings to this quote, my favourite analysis is how; not only are our imperfections different within each individual, and shape who we feel we are and who we become as people; but they also influence how we see others.
The world has come to a situation, where we tend to use the cliché of "judging a book by its cover" too much, and I suppose its hard not too; I mean, I know I've done it before - its a habit.
Sure, I try not too, we all should try not too, remembering the uniqueness inside everyone, giving them a chance. Because Imperfections Create Character.
There's no doubt that first impressions can be daunting and often define how a relationship will last, and how it will turn out to be (and, yes I know, people may not agree with that.)

So; there is a goal that I want to achieve, and persist to remember, that Imperfections Create Character, and not to be so judgemental of people's flaws, they define who they are - all the good bits and the bad bits. Give people a chance.

So here's a video a came across today. I'm not exactly the full religious type, but i thought it was highly influential, and sort of connected with this post.

(Ps. If your wondering, yes I did use the quote in my twitter bio, and I'm not ashamed)

Starting New

Yeh, I've actually done this before. Written a blog, posted a couple of times - then deleted the whole thing. I don't know, maybe it felt like the wrong time, or I was lazy with updating or I was just embarrassed to share my life with random people of the internet. I cant exactly remember why I had removed it though. But I swear; this time ill try to make it more interesting.
So this is my first post, here it goes.
